Hybrid Roles:

The Technology Leadership Development Program is an initiative designed to develop senior students into future IT leaders.

Our Purpose:

As an IT Intern at Boston Scientific, you will…

  • be placed on an IT team with a specific outcome to achieve during the 12-week program.
  • practice applying many of the following skills: software engineering, business analysis, user experience, data analysis, data visualization, project management, product management to real business problems .
  • complete a group project with fellow IT Interns that focuses on solving a real problem for Boston Scientific employees (e.g. use Robotic Process Automation to reduce a manual process from 90 minutes to 30 minutes, improve and digitize the critical incident process to decrease the time for the response team to connect and work together to solve the incident)
  • participate in extra-curricular opportunities and benefits offered by Boston Scientific which might include: executive panels, team building events, training, volunteering, flexible hours, employee resource groups, team sports on campus, gym access and global partnerships within Boston Scientific
  • have the opportunity to interview for a fulltime position in our 2-year rotational program where we cultivate our IT leaders of the future who use agile, lean-startup, user experience and product-based practices to provide digital solutions to business problems.

Your Impact

Examples of meaningful work by IT Engineer Interns include:

  • working in the Digital Health space to create digital solutions that connect Boston Scientific, patients and health care providers
  • creating a digital robot in the Robotic Process Automation team to automate a tedious process, saving time and money
  • helping the Core Technology Services (i.e. infrastructure) team complete functionality and scalability research, create the architecture design and plan the high availability (HA) infrastructure, create code for deployment and management automation, and feature discovery for an Open Source tool
  • working in the Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Digital Products space to create digital solutions that connect Boston Scientific, patients, and health care providers
  • developing a Product Security Controls Request Repository & Workflow Automation Tool for the Cybersecurity team

Your Qualifications:

  • You have an interest and capability to learn new programming languages and development approaches
  • You can contribute to the resolution of a technical challenge
  • You can articulate your ideas and opinions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • You demonstrate courage when actively sharing your ideas and providing feedback while also being open to others’ views and feedback
  • You jump in and find ways to provide value to the teams you work on, taking initiative to work with others when needed
  • You demonstrate empathy and understand the value of the user’s perspective
  • You enjoy working in a multicultural environment where people from different backgrounds contribute with their knowledge and experience to deliver solutions to business needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 70% of bachelor's degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar.
  • Currently enrolled in the university
  • ​​​​Majoring in MIS, Business Analytics, Cybersecurity or similar
  • Graduating Q1 2026
  • English Level: 90% .
  • Available for 3-6 month internship.
  • Availability of 38-40 hours per week for internships, hybrid mode.
