Senior Manager, Sourcing

As a Senior Manager, Sourcing, the selected candidate will have experience in strategic sourcing – ideally in the technology or services industry. You will have demonstrated the ability to drive positive business outcomes through the supply chain, have great communication and influence skills, high analytical proficiency, and demonstrated ability to negotiate complex agreements. You will develop strategy for and execute the most complex and highest impact procurement efforts across the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Problem Solving & Strategy Advice:Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth).

  • Negotiation:Lead and partner to negotiate commercial terms contracts for a broad range of services for Capital One

  • Relationship Management:Build strong internal and external relationships, understand the procurement parameters and look for new opportunities

  • Collaboration:Consult with internal clients and business partners to identify opportunities to drive cost savings and efficiency in the supply chain. Lead executive level conversations with internal clients and third parties

  • Risk Management:Identify, assess, and mitigate third party risks in sourcing events

  • Supplier Sourcing:Analyze external industry trends and benchmarks, as well as develop and share market insights. Develop and implement procurement strategies including RFx, eSourcing, direct negotiations, etc

  • Coaching and Mentoring: Serving as a people manager, coach and mentor to develop less seasoned and experienced Sourcing Managers in their development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in conceptualizing and structuring complex business transactions

  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial transaction negotiations

  • At least 7 years of experience in communications, presentations, and writing

  • At least 3 years of People Leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Juris Doctorate

  • 10 years of experience in Risk management

  • 10 years of experience in Outsourcing and procurement
