Red Hat is seeking to hire a Vice President of Information Technology in Raleigh, NC, Boston, MA or Cork, Ireland. In this global executive role reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for developing and ensuring the success of the innovation and technology strategy for the company. You will collaborate with leaders and peers to develop business and technology strategies, engage with stakeholders and business partners to align roadmaps, and develop relationships that enable profitable growth. As the Vice President of Information Technology, you will develop innovative technology initiatives, optimize technology infrastructure, set IT policies and ensure the efficient, secure and compliant operation of the IT department.
What you will do:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute the IT strategy to support the company's overall business strategy
Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development
AI and Technology Leadership:
Lead and actively manage the Global IT department, ensuring efficient and effective strategic planning and operational execution and fostering a culture of innovation, high accountability and continuous improvement
Identify opportunities to leverage AI technologies to optimize business performance, enhance associate productivity, and drive revenue growth
Advise senior management on strategic initiatives in support of business goals and objectives
Technology Security and Governance:
Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
Identify and manage cybersecurity threats to the company
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and IT services
Technology Infrastructure:
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
Ensure effective communication with stakeholders regarding IT initiatives, project status, and strategic goals
Budgeting, Financial and Project Management:
Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness
Oversee the development and efficient execution of IT-related projects to ensure they meet business requirements
Technology Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
What you will bring:
15+ years of technical experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role; Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or MIS a plus
Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them
Effective communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to influence cross-functionally and build strong relationships
Excellent leadership and managerial skills
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to align IT with organizational goals and manage IT governance and compliance issues
Willingness to travel 20-40% globally
Global enterprise technology company experience
Preferred certifications:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
The salary range for this position is $234,020.00 - $409,520.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
