What to Expect
As Transportation Associate Manager, you will be playing a critical role in the Transportation Department at Tesla. You will manage teams that oversee valet, shuttle, parking and commuter benefits programs across various site in North America. You will develop performance processes for shuttle vendor management, internal parking and valet SOPs, and nation-wide commuter benefit programs that benefit Tesla and our employees. This role will not only require the ability to make quick decisions but will also need the skillsets to develop improvement programs that fit the needs of our employees. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and business acumen to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and being self-motivated to drive change.
What You’ll Do
  • Standardization and Improvement of Programs – Standardize transportation related programs (parking, valet, shuttles, commuter benefits) and create clear, documented policies in collaboration with HR, Legal, and business teams
  • KPI Management and Team Performance – Set and track performance goals for team members, foster urgency and accountability, and initiate cross-functional projects to drive collaboration
  • Optimized Scheduling and Communication – Advise valet program managers on optimal scheduling to maximize output with minimal headcount, while ensuring timely communication of program changes to stakeholders
  • Feedback Loop – Collect quarterly employee feedback and implement improvements through direct collaboration with the three transportation program managers
  • Financial and Vendor Management – Oversee shuttle vendor relationships, negotiate headcount responsibilities, analyze vendor data, and ensure alignment with MSAs to reduce costs and improve processes
  • Drive Engagement – Share regular updates with employees and stakeholders about transportation improvements and upcoming initiatives to keep the workforce informed and engaged
What You’ll Bring
  • Must have 5+ years of transportation background and understand vanpool programs
  • Proven experience in standardizing multi-faceted programs and aligning with legal, HR, and business units to formalize and communicate clear guidelines
  • Strong leadership and performance management skills, with the ability to set KPIs, motivate teams, and promote cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to optimize scheduling with a focus on resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness in fast-paced operational settings
  • Skills in implementing structured feedback loops and using insights to drive tangible service improvements across transportation programs
  • Financial acumen and experience in vendor negotiation, contract compliance, and driving cost savings through data-driven solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to keep diverse audiences aligned, engaged, and informed
