Lead electrical/control design, installation, and commissioning activities of stamping equipment, such as tandem press, blanking, transfer systems, scrap handling, hot stamping, post-processing, and CNC equipment
Support equipment design and administrative tasks (e.g., RFQ creation) throughout multiple project phases
Provide clear direction and correlate feedback from suppliers to ensure equipment quality and performance targets are met
Analyze data to develop, troubleshoot, and improve a variety of stamping processes
Collaborate with suppliers to develop engineering designs, ensuring key requirements are met and validated
Conduct detailed studies and apply strong problem-solving skills to mitigate risks or design flaws
Facilitate equipment trials at vendor sites and Tesla factories for final acceptance and handover to production teams
Provide guidance to engineering technicians, interns, and team members as necessary
Coordinate and work on activities with cross-functional teams, such as Mechanical Design, Quality Engineering, and Process Engineering
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical/Control Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, especially in Siemens TIA Portal or other major PLC brands
Familiarity with drive systems (e.g., Siemens Sinamics, SEW drive, Rexroth drive)
Experience with HMI development and integration; Knowledge of fieldbus protocols, such as Profinet and EtherCAT
Experience with vision systems and their integration into automated processes and hands-on experience with robot programming and control, eg., KUKA robots
Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies for electrical and automation systems
Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks is a plus
Good understanding of equipment safety controls and regulatory compliance
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines and strong systematic and structured problem-solving skills
Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in stamping and automation
