What You’ll Do
  • Lead electrical/control design, installation, and commissioning activities of stamping equipment, such as tandem press, blanking, transfer systems, scrap handling, hot stamping, post-processing, and CNC equipment
  • Support equipment design and administrative tasks (e.g., RFQ creation) throughout multiple project phases
  • Provide clear direction and correlate feedback from suppliers to ensure equipment quality and performance targets are met
  • Analyze data to develop, troubleshoot, and improve a variety of stamping processes
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop engineering designs, ensuring key requirements are met and validated
  • Conduct detailed studies and apply strong problem-solving skills to mitigate risks or design flaws
  • Facilitate equipment trials at vendor sites and Tesla factories for final acceptance and handover to production teams
  • Provide guidance to engineering technicians, interns, and team members as necessary
  • Coordinate and work on activities with cross-functional teams, such as Mechanical Design, Quality Engineering, and Process Engineering
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical/Control Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, especially in Siemens TIA Portal or other major PLC brands
  • Familiarity with drive systems (e.g., Siemens Sinamics, SEW drive, Rexroth drive)
  • Experience with HMI development and integration; Knowledge of fieldbus protocols, such as Profinet and EtherCAT
  • Experience with vision systems and their integration into automated processes and hands-on experience with robot programming and control, eg., KUKA robots
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies for electrical and automation systems
  • Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks is a plus
  • Good understanding of equipment safety controls and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines and strong systematic and structured problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in stamping and automation
