Your key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the consolidation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS or US GAAP.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data throughout the consolidation process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and ensure timely completion of consolidation tasks.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations related to consolidation, and ensure compliance.
- Analyse and resolve complex consolidation issues, providing technical guidance to team members and clients as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize consolidation-related technologies and software to optimize consolidation processes and improve reporting capabilities.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, including supporting schedules and disclosures, for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on consolidation matters, providing training and support to finance teams and stakeholders as necessary.
Skills and attributes for success
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in financial consolidation, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on consolidation requirements.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in consolidation-related technologies and software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC, Oracle HFM, Lucanet).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex consolidation issues.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work outputs.
- Ability to explain & manage complex accounting and financial reporting issues
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent certification.
- 8+ years relevant experience
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Proficiency in MS – Excel, MS – Office.
- Knowledge on any Financial statements preparation/reporting tools (Case ware, One source will be additional advantage.
- Flexibility and adaptability, as necessary
- Strong project management skills
- Strong communication, Interpersonal, Analytical Skills & highly proactive in approach
