Key Responsibilities:
VP - Data Risk Officerwill ideally be an experienced risk manager with experience in data risk management or data governance in a globally complex, dispersed, and diverse financial services organization with the following capabilities:
- Demonstrable track record of identifying, assessing, monitoring, and measuring data risks within a highly complex global business.
- Proficiency in risk and control data analysis and visualization, in particular the ability to incorporate and understand a mass of information from a variety of sources to recommend a course of action.
- Sound program management for data programs/initiatives for execution (e.g., deliverables on time, risk identification, process for milestone reporting and changes)
- Develop expertise on data-related best practices and standards, operational risk principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Assess and challenge adherence with policies/standards (e.g., data quality) and adoption of data governance capabilities and initiatives with the data governance program.
- Facilitate consistent adoption of data principles, policies, standards, and frameworks across Operational Risk Management.
- Help assess the current state of data processes and identify areas of need.
- Maintain library of artifacts that support assessments

- Broad experience across financial services products, functions, and processes, to include exposure to operational risk management within this domain.

Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Universitydegree.
- 6-10 or more years’ experience in operational risk management, datamanagement/governance,control-related functions, or in-business risk and control groups in a financial services firm.
- Broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations including regulatory requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of data management, data governance, data quality or related data concepts (DAMA DMBOK) preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CDMP, CPA, CIA, CISM) preferred.
