The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n)International Transportation Analyst youwill have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Participate in the Export Operations Center control tower that monitors the 3PL’s Ocean Booking and Documentation activities.
  • Analyze Export Operations metric reports to identify process gaps, delayed freight, and areas of opportunity to improve Transit on Time metrics for 3M.
  • Maintain regular reviews with key subsidiaries to review dashboard performance, open action items, 3PL performance, and new initiatives.
  • Work in collaboration with International Ocean and Air Consolidation locations to analyze top shipment quality defects reported by the 3M subsidiaries and work with the plants/DCs to drive quality improvements.
  • Support multiple 3M subsidiaries (countries) to identify optimal transportation to meet their customer’s needs.
  • Lead collaboration with business stakeholders, Regional and Global Logistics teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to provide visibility, engage in new processes, demonstrate team capabilities, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Prioritize critical tasks, execute complex solutions, and identify and lead impactful projects utilizing Supply Chain tools, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and processes to make data-driven decisions resulting in improvements to cost, service, and quality initiatives.
  • Partner with the BT team to implement changes related to ERP deployment activities.
  • Support solving customer complaints in a timely and business-efficient manner and implement measures to prevent them from reoccurring, as well as address internal and operational problems to prevent service deficiencies and/or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Implement Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action/Preventive Action plans if required for any failed metrics.
  • Determine any required actions with new releases/deployments (Testing/Training).
  • Coordinate and/or support cross-functional project teams to identify problems, map processes, analyze data, and develop & implement solutions to address root cause(s).
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be on-call, maintain a flexible attitude, and work within a rapidly growing and changing organization.
  • Understand business processes, business data, and how to turn data into useful and actionable information critical to the success of this role.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or advanced studies) from an accredited university in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Five (5) years of equivalent work experience in Logistics, Customs (Import and Export), Transportation in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Fully Bilingual: English and Spanish
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Soft skills:Individual must be detail oriented, self-directed and have strong independent problem-solving skill

  • Detail oriented/accurate and thorough
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility and resiliency are inherent in the job responsibilities

Technical skills:

  • Working experience with SAP (ERP applications)
  • Intermediate/ Advanced Excel skills
  • Power Platform Knowledge (PowerBi), any other application knowledge is valuable.
  • Infor Nexus working knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience in Trade Compliance requirements for Import and Export, Bill of Ladings, IMO Declaration, Hazardous Shipments, Country of origin, INCOTERMS, HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule)
