The Vehicle Energy Management Engineering (VEME)-Thermal Systems Engineering (TSE) team is responsible for the full vehicle sign-off of heat management for component temperatures in the vehicle environment that are exposed to heat from the powertrain and exhaust. While the functional organizations have component requirements for the maximum design temperatures permitted for the long-term durability of the components due to the thermal environment, TSE provides the final sign-off position. The vehicle testing for the sign-off of the components is referenced by the Safety Office and Critical Concerns Group when there are questions regarding the robustness of a component for vehicles in the field. Thermal experts for Heat Management will oversee the requirements and process disciplines to ensure robust program delivery.
