In this role, you will:

  • Provide national leadership and oversight of the oil, gas, and mineral management business to deliver a best-in-class client experience
  • Manage a portfolio of oil, gas and mineral assets in accordance with the governing instruments, fiduciary laws, bank policies and procedures
  • Manage staff levels including selection and development of staff and asset loads
  • Collaborate with Head of Specialty Asset Management to shape strategy and vision for the business
  • Engage and influence wealth management leadership in design and implementation of strategic business plans
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to create, enhance and expand clients' wealth management relationships, ensuring that all relationships are managed according to fiduciary policies and procedures
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of wealth client management team to meet high risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop risk management strategies in accordance with Wells Fargo policies for solutions to complex oil, gas, and mineral management problems, design and structure individual portfolios to meet specific client objectives and provide in-depth portfolio analytics to ensure client portfolios achieve maximum investment performance
  • Serve as a resource to wealth management and trust partners, as well as other specialists who serve as the client's service team
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources within Specialty Asset Management
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Fiduciary Specialty Asset Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with wealth management and asset management
  • Experience working with trusts and estates
  • Experience with oil, gas and mineral management
  • Experience in trust oil, gas and mineral asset administration
  • Experience closing and selling assets, and arranging for land/mineral appraisals
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Negotiating mineral lease experience
  • Relationship management and asset management (and/or property management) experience in an environment serving private, high net worth clients (not institutional).
  • Proven ability to manage mineral assets in a consultative fashion for clients and professionally executing acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and/or project management assignments for various property types and other complex assignments
  • Registered Professional Landman or Certified Professional Landman (AAPL) or Certified Mineral Manager (NARO)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and enhance client relationships leading to increased revenue
  • Sound judgment, problem solving, and risk assessment in the application of analytical conclusions and management recommendations
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to make timely decisions in complex situations that demonstrate sound rationale, experience and judgment
  • Experience in a client facing environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment


Job Expectations:

  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities and/or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.

  • Up to 25% travel

Pay Range

$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
