Our PAS Mobility practice provides services to manage the cost and risks involved in HR plans, programs and systems related to a global workforce. We advise the part of business strategy related to people. As a Tax Manager, you'll be providing strategic tax planning recommendations to clients. You'll have the opportunity to work with global clients to address their most complex people challenges, and ultimately improve and drive sustainable business results.

Your key responsibilities

You will be engaged in complex compliance and advisory work; working with colleagues all over the globe, completing tax returns, reviewing/signing off, writing correspondence, providing authoritative advice/guidance, and review tax cost estimates. Directly engaging our clients is vital, be ready to question and negotiate to provide results.

Key attributes for success

  • Successful delivery of Mobility (Expatriate) Tax projects: technical excellence and practical/business driven approach to solving complex client challenges
  • Provide quality US tax returns and overseas tax filings; preparing/reviewing calculations (international tax cost projections, equalization and hypothetical tax)
  • Generate revenue through identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting relationships with clients; identify potential risks and opportunities to improve processes and acquire new business; contribute to business development and client pursuit activities
  • Lead workstreams from planning to implementation ' managing resources and budgets effectively
  • Develop understanding of expatriate tax issues, trends and tools, and maintaining your reputation as an authoritative professional
  • Managing, coaching, and developing junior resources and peers, focusing on their technical and client service skills to develop their career

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in related field; MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred
  • 5+ years relevant experience in expatriate tax: Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or in-house role with exposure to large-scale projects
  • US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership
  • An understanding of automated tax-processing systems, as well as tax laws
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to confidently influence colleagues and clients
  • Analytical approach to tax; ability to convert complex data into meaningful strategic insights
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $108,900 to $199,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $130,700 to $226,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
