Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating forward-looking and scalable design systems: UI components, patterns, templates, and documentation for a variety of platforms.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, product designers, technologists, and business experts to apply, evolve, and maintain our Design System.
  • Work closely with designers to champion consistency and efficiency in design deliverables across our products and services with usability, accessibility, and optimisation in mind.
  • Use customers insights and analytical data to inform the development of key components and design patterns.
  • Contribute to the vision to drive Design System adoption and improvements across the organisation.
  • Evangelise Design Systems across the organisation, fostering collaboration between design and development teams.
  • Initiate and conduct usability and design research/validation.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Previous experience in a Design System design role - creating, contributing and/or maintaining a Design System.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating examples of Design System deliverables (components, patterns, documentation and guidelines for a variety of stakeholders).
  • Demonstrate an ability to think at a systems level of design and understanding of User Centred Design and usability best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility requirements and how to implement them effectively.
  • Effective communication of design solutions across roles and comfortable collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Previous experience of mobile application and responsive web design.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Figma Variables, Token Studio, Supernova or similar Design System tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
