Your impact
The numerical modelling specialist will serve on ports and marine projects and will undertake met-ocean analysis and numerical modelling tasks utilizing industry recognized software such as MIKE 21, TELEMAC etc.
The successful candidate shall possess knowledge and experience in most of the below:
- Met-Ocean data analysis and extreme value analysis.
- Wave transformation modelling using spectral wave models like MIKE SW, SWAN etc.
- Wave penetration/agitation modelling using boussinesq wave models like MIKE BW, Bouss-2D etc.
- Tidal hydrodynamics modelling using MIKE 21/TELEMAC/Delft3D suite
- Sediment transport modelling using 2D sediment transport models like MIKE 21 MT and ST/Delft3D suite
- Flushing assessment and Sediment plume dispersion modelling
- Shoreline evolution modelling using LITPACK
- Cross-shore transport modelling using LITPACK, SBEACH, XBEACH etc.
- Proficiency in generating unstructured and flexible meshes using MIKE Zero environment.
- Proficiency in programming using MATLAB and Python
- Proficiency in GIS tools like ArcGIS/Q-GIS
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Key capabilities and qualities should include:
- Should be proficient in use of MIKE 21 software
- Should be willing to work outside normal work hours if required by project schedule
- Should be a team player.
Here's what you'll need
About you
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is essential.
- Master’s degree with specialisation in Marine/Coastal/Environmental Engineering will be preferred.
- About 5-10 years of experience after graduation/post-graduation in a numerical modelling role, with minimum experience of 5 years in numerical modelling for marine/offshore projects.
- Basic knowledge of various coastal engineering guidelines such as CIRIA, CEM, PIANC
- Should have awareness of individual capability limitations and technical competence.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Good communication skills are desirable.
