Key job responsibilities
As a Test Engineer, you will contribute to new product introduction by supporting first silicon bring-up, production ramp-up, and yield optimization. You will collaborate with OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly & Test) vendors to collaborate in developing ATE test methodologies, board design, and debug strategies to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. This role requires hands-on debugging on ATE testers, first silicon characterization, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production readiness.Key job responsibilities:
• First Silicon Debug & Characterization – Execute first silicon bring-up, debug test failures, perform rigorous characterization, and correlate results with SLT.
• ATE Debug & Correlation – Develop and debug ATE test programs, bring up code on testers and correlate results with SLT.
• Test Development & Optimization – Optimize test methodologies, program flows, and patterns to improve test coverage, reduce test time, and optimize costs.
• Yield Analysis & Improvement – Analyze engineering sample data, characterize NPI product performance, debug yield-limiting issues.
• Production Readiness & OSAT Execution– Own wafer-sort and final test program deployment, drive early production stages, and support yield and test cost improvements.
• Knowledge Transfer & Sustaining Support – Work closely with OSAT sustaining engineers to implement improvements and maintain test stability.
• Board Design & Debug – Develop and debug test hardware, including load boards and probe cards, and ensure proper qualification for mass production.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, including ATE test development, yield analysis.
• Hands-on experience in ATE test coding, first silicon debug, PVT characterization, and test time optimization.
• Proficiency in ATE test methodologies, including wafer-sort and final test program development.
• Experience in board design and debug, including load boards, probe cards, and interface hardware.
• Strong skills in statistical ATE data analysis, failure analysis, and root cause identification.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across design, product, and manufacturing teams.
• Willingness to travel for onsite support at OSAT locations during silicon bring-up and mass production.
• Strong ATE debugging skills, with experience on platforms such as J750 or UltraFlex (IGXL platform preferred).
• Hands-on experience working with OSAT for sustaining support, yield ramp-up, and test cost optimization.
• Basic understanding of DFT methodologies, SCAN, MBIST.
• Experience collaborating across functions, working with Design, Product Engineering, Reliability, and Bench (SLT) teams
• Proven ability to optimize test efficiency, improve test quality, and drive cost reductions.
• Ability to work in Amazon’s fast-paced environment, making data-driven decisions with high ownership and a customer-centric mindset.
