The Senior Test Engineer has responsibilities extending to the design and development of test system software and hardware within the operations environments of the Integrated Supply chain. This position will develop hardware and software designs for real-time automated test system solutions for anesthesia product final assemblies for our Patient Care Solutions business. Our automated test systems ensure product functionality to meet design engineering test specifications prior to product shipping to our customers.


Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Lead test system development on National Instruments based standard test platform for new product introductions, including concept, architecture, hardware selection, software/code development, prototype testing, integration, documentation, manufacturing introduction and service.
  • Responsible to identify hardware in test system and design electrical product interface fixture needed to fulfil product test requirements.
  • Responsible to design test platform pneumatics and automation to achieve Test Requirements.
  • Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas.
  • Responsible for test coverage, repeatable and accurate test performance and on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for global collaboration with remote design engineering and other test engineers to develop common test hardware/software standardization for introduction to multiple sites.
  • Ensure early focus on manufacturability and DFT in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining test cases for validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and system acceptance.

Required Qualifications:

  • • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • • A minimum of 4 years of post-bachelor professional experience in related field OR Master’s degree with 3 years of post-doctorate professional experience in related field.
  • • Minimum of 4 years National Instruments LabView and/or TestStand experience
  • • 4 years’ experience in development of automated test systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing automated test systems into manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in FDA regulated industry.
  • Experience developing test system documentation deliverables such as BOM, schematics, detailed design documents, qualification protocols, user manuals, etc.
  • Demonstrated program or project management skills
  • Lean and six sigma certification

  • Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks

  • Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
