Strategic Leadership

  • Define and drive the digital strategy for Commercial functions, aligning with corporate objectives and growth plans.
  • Partner with Commercial leadership to identify opportunities for digital innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the development of a multi-year IT roadmap for Commercial systems, including CRM, analytics, omnichannel engagement, and digital marketing platforms.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Commercial executives and cross-functional leaders.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Champion change management and user adoption strategies.

Portfolio Management

  • Oversee the Commercial IT portfolio , ensuring alignment with business priorities, budget, and resource availability.
  • Establish governance frameworks for project intake, prioritization, and execution.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance, risks, and benefits realization.

Technology Enablement

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of key platforms such as Salesforce , Veeva , Tableau/Power BI , Digital Patient Services Platforms and marketing automation tools .
  • Drive data integration and analytics capabilities to support real-time decision-making and customer insights.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP, GDPR, HIPAA).

Team & Vendor Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of IT professionals, project managers, and business analysts.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and technology partners.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role supporting Commercial functions in biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
  • Proven track record of support product launches, leading digital transformation and managing complex IT portfolios.
  • Deep understanding of Commercial operations, including field force enablement, digital marketing, and customer engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM and OCM (Salesforce, Veeva), data analytics, cloud platforms, and digital tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, regulated environment
Compensation Data

The annual starting salary for this position is between $234,000 - $307,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
