Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with global sourcing teams to establish and execute category objectives
  • Working with global suppliers to understand assembly and finished good manufacturing processes; serve as technical expert to ensure repeatable component quality and reliability throughout the product life cycle
  • Partnering with suppliers and category teams to investigate and address supply constraints and supplied material issues
  • Investigating and evaluating new and existing technologies to use in future products and improve the quality and reliability of current products
  • Collaborating with R&D, manufacturing and process development teams on electrical and mechanical design requirements for new product development
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to execute changes initiated by BSC or suppliers; lead and support projects to address process improvement, supplier capability, capacity, and compliance
  • Coordinating all phases of supplier engineering work content for projects; communicate emerging issues and recovery action plans with site leadership and stakeholders to gain resources and support
  • Identifying and executing material cost reduction projects to meet category and divisional goals; influence cross-functional team members to support and drive value improvement projects
  • Maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures to support the BSC commitment to patient safety and product quality

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of technical experience supporting complex mechanical or electrical systems
  • Ability to travel 10-20% (domestic and international)


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in medical device or similarly regulated industry
  • Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods, six sigma and/or problem-solving techniques
  • Organized and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive deliverables
  • Results-driven with effective critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Keen interpersonal skills with ability to develop internal and external relationships
