Jacobs works across a broad range of wind engineering areas from project inception and development through to execution and delivery, including:
- Early-stage project development, including prospecting, feasibility studies, concept design and consenting.
- Owner’s engineer roles, supporting clients through project development (i.e. pre-FID), and monitoring design, construction and commissioning throughout project execution.
- Tender support, including advice on contracting strategies and provision/review of technical specifications and other documentation.
- Technical due diligence and lender’s technical advisory roles through various project stages (early development, construction-ready, operational).
- Wind monitoring campaign planning and execution.
- Wind resource assessment, energy yield analysis and wind turbine selection.

The Senior/Principal Wind Engineer role, based in one of our Australian offices, requires active participation within project teams in the pursuit and delivery of advisory and engineering services for wind energy clients in Australia and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Your experience and skills are expected to include:
- Strong technical knowledge of wind turbine technology, wind farm layout design and optimisation, wind resource assessment and energy yield analysis, wind turbine performance assessment, and project construction.
- Current and active participation in the wind energy sector.
- Experience working in consulting or for renewable energy developers.
- Experience on-site on wind energy projects.
- Firm understanding of wind farm balance of plant requirements.
- Proficient in the use of windPRO, WAsP and/or other wind engineering software.
- Strong articulation and communication skills.
- High quality technical report writing.
- Analytical skills.
- Work within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Time management and experience working on multiple projects or pursuits simultaneously.
The following experience and skills are preferred:
- Strong personal network within the wind/renewable energy sector in Australia.
- Previous/current work in consulting and/or working with third parties (e.g. customers/clients), including project/pursuit management and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Delivery of technical due diligence services, including reviewing technical documentation, authoring relevant report sections, co-ordinating inputs from other disciplines, and technical discussions with stakeholders throughout the process.
- Participation in stakeholder engagement, including presentation of technical matters to those out-of-discipline.
- An understanding of commercial aspects of renewable energy development, including project economics and project financing.
- Project management, delivering project on cost, on time, and resulting in client/customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and registrations are expected to include:
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in renewable energy, engineering or related field.
- Professional registration such Chartered Professional Engineer/RPEQ/RPEV status or working towards it.

- Deliver technically excellent advisory and engineering consultancy services.
- Be engaged in the safety culture of Jacobs and promote safety in all aspects of project delivery within the organisation and with our clients.

- Support business development, establishing and maintaining relationships within the industry (e.g. prospects, past clients, turbine suppliers).
