Job Responsibilities:
- Develops a product strategy and vision that delivers customer value
- Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
- Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that supports the strategic roadmap and value proposition
- Builds the framework and track key success metrics such as cost, features, risk posture, and reliability
- Partners closely with engineering teams to ensure value, context, and acceptance criteria are well-defined; may assist with writing JIRAs and beta testing features
- Reviews the long-term product roadmap, ensuring a balance of modernization, stability, and new features, while regularly updating business partners on progress and plans
- Applies disciplined cost vs. benefit vs. capacity analysis to all prioritization decisions in partnership with the business
- Navigates all streams intersecting with the product to understand and plan around cross-dependencies due to horizontal engineering efforts
- Partners effectively across business lines, e.g., equities, to harness synergies, ensure re-use, and avoid duplication
- Communicates business training for new features, status updates for in-progress items, including risks/challenges and mitigation plans
- Conducts trader-facing activities on the trading floor
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
- Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities, including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
- Proven influence and decision-making skills, including the ability to debate in a data-driven manner with the courage to hold business partners accountable
- Understanding of underlying technology components to guide users toward workable features
- Agile experience: JIRA, sprint planning, retrospectives, grooming, and backlog prioritization
- Ability to work in a high-pressure trading floor environment, partnering with traders, quantitative analysts (quants), and engineers
- Demonstrated organizational skills and teamwork ethic; excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think locally and execute globally
- Effective commercial awareness and ability to proactively suggest new products and enhancements to existing products to achieve tangible revenue results
- Analytical mindset with a keen interest in statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization
- Ability to work autonomously and self-directed; most of the team will be London-based
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or an engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with technologies such as Python and React, Lucid, Tableau, and Microsoft suites, including Teams
- Understanding of financial markets and fixed income ETF trading
