The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage efforts of IBM resources and client employees as well as third-party vendors to ensure that an integrated solution is provided to meet the client needs. In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects. The Project Manager works independently but keeps leadership promptly apprised of work status, raising issues of risk to the appropriate level and at the appropriate time; works effectively and efficiently with minimal oversight; advises and provides guidance to other professionals; seeks guidance on key issues as appropriate; and has a solid level of expertise in project management. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall project plan, budget, structure, schedule and staffing requirements for the delivery organization.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- High School diploma and 5 – 7+ years of experience working in a consultative services organization
- Customer interface experience in consulting and professional services
- Proven Project Management experience (PMP, Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or other certifications)
- Experience working with multiple project methodologies
- Ability to participate in a virtual office setting and maintain an active and dynamic presence via phone and email
- Excellent customer service, relationship management, and facilitation skills
- Solid personal leadership and management skills with a collaborative style
- Ability to travel up 50% when required
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in IBM software products Cloud Paks, Instana, watsonx, and Turbonomic.
- Experience of concepts of Generative AI and Machine Learning.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills allowing support of critical customer situations
- Able to interpret and understand client’s business and technical needs.
- Ability to bridge between Client’s technical needs problem and IBM Lab Development.
