Senior, Caseware Support Specialist (5+ years of experience) – is a pivotal role within the Caseware Deployment Project in EY, requiring a blend of technical proficiency in financial reporting tools, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the financial statement preparation process. This individual will be responsible for supporting the deployment and continuous improvement of Caseware Cloud as a key tool for statutory reporting engagements. The role demands a proactive and solution-oriented approach to managing feature implementation, troubleshooting issues, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure a seamless deployment and effective operation of the platform.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage mailbox inquiries, ensuring that all communications are addressed in a timely and effective manner, providing clear, concise, and helpful responses to enhance user satisfaction and support.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for Caseware Cloud and Desktop, offering guidance and support to project team members and stakeholders, and ensuring a deep understanding of the platform's capabilities and best practices is shared across.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to support the geographic roadmap efforts, ensuring the strategic deployment of Caseware Cloud aligns with the specific needs and regulatory requirements of EY offices in different countries.
  • Manage access controls and conduct periodic security checks for Caseware Cloud to ensure adherence to security policies, addressing any discrepancies or vulnerabilities promptly.
  • Regularly engage with stakeholders to collect feedback, understand their evolving needs, and clearly communicate the impact and benefits of new features and updates.
  • Analyze current processes within the Caseware platform, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains, and staying abreast of opportunities that could benefit operations.
  • Develop and disseminate materials and documentation, conduct knowledge sharing sessions, and facilitate both virtual and in-person classroom training sessions to ensure team members are proficient in new features and best practices.
  • Support change management efforts for Caseware Cloud updates, ensuring that changes are communicated effectively and that transitions are managed smoothly to minimize any disruption to operations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery, maintaining a collaborative approach to enhance the functionality and utility of the Caseware tool.
  • Execute test scripts for new features and releases, documenting findings and communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Actively raise issues to the appropriate team when problems arise, ensuring that concerns are escalated appropriately and that solutions are sought in collaboration with the right stakeholder.
  • Assist in the updates of Caseware templates, providing support to ensure that the latest standards and practices are reflected in the tool, thereby enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.

Skills and attributes for success

Experience in financial reporting tools such as Caseware, Workiva, or similar.

Strong understanding of financial reporting processes and statutory requirements.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle ambiguity.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Experience in ERP implementation, with a focus on financial reporting technology integration and optimization.
  • Experience in supporting cross-functional projects and change management initiatives.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CPA/CA) or equivalent with relevant experience in financial reporting and statutory compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP or other accounting frameworks.
  • Training and enablement experience for technology tools and processes.
