The Government and Public Sector (“GPS”) Associate Director of FP&A for Products and Solutions will report to the GPS Finance & Accounting Leader.
Your key responsibilities
Cost & Profitability:
- Lead on cost and profitability analysis for GPS sponsored technology offerings (products, solutions, platforms), incorporating insights from product teams on all external cost elements and application of internal EY costs.
- Partner with product managers and solution leaders to quantify opportunities to enhance product margins through cost optimization, efficiency improvements and/or price adjustments.
- Partner with finance and markets leadership to understand and develop market return requirements that align with the GPS’s overarching strategic financial targets
Planning, Reporting and Forecasting:
- Analyze technology-based revenue streams and margin results, report actual performance against product/solutions growth and profit targets and influence adjustments to strategic offerings.
- Provide input to GPS current year and long-term forecasts, for revenue and cost.Develop robust driver-based top-line, resourcing, financial and ROI models to support business objectives.Ensure planned revenue and cost can be attributed to products and solutions, when applicable.
- Develop investment tracking for GPS technology offerings and maintain distinct views of both time-phased non-recurring costs and anticipated recurring Run/O&M costs. Ensure both are properly captured in GPS annual and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze monthly results and communicate messages to senior management, including risks and opportunity assessment, business trends. Make recommendations to help improve the business’ growth and profitability.
- Build scenarios to address business questions and evaluate new revenue streams
- Work with GPS Alliances team to gain advance visibility to relationships that will result in resale opportunities; develop financial processes to support these transactions at scale in GPS.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial management reporting packages.
Controls & Tools:
- Maintain costing models and develop new financial models for products, solutions, and technology platforms, and use these to inform investment requests, capital planning, and operating cost planning.
- Develop financial controls, policies and procedures for use throughout the life cycle of products and solutions that will ensure compliance with US government regulatory (FAR, DFARS, CAS) requirements and EY GPS policies and procedures.
- Champion the development of tools and processes to monitor and manage product/solution financials and create financial transparency for relevant stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of new Costpoint functionality and/or other tools typically used in product financial management.
Cross-Finance partnership:
- Partner with Pricing to ensure compliant representation of product and solution economics within GPS proposals and optimize pricing strategies for GPS sponsored products and solutions.
- Partner with General Accounting to capitalize costs appropriately and incorporate cost amortization into financial plan.
- Partner with Tax to ensure proper and consistent tax treatment for products and solutions, and resale activity.
- Partner with GPS financial reporting team and accounting to refine and automate data systems and tools to track product/solution-oriented KPIs and enhance insights.Distill KPIs into relevant key metrics to drive in-depth modeling and analysis.
- Partner with GPS Markets Finance to ensure GPS engagements properly reflect financial impacts (revenue, cost, billing) of technology.
- Work with Service Line FP&A to ensure proper visibility and cost treatment of Service Line planned dollars in the GPS P&L.

To qualify you must have
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree in business or data analytics preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in FP&A, with exposure to Federal rules and regulations, ideally reporting to either a Director, Controller, CFO, or other C-level (or equivalent) executive
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
- Experience serving in a financial role in a $100M+ in ARR, hyper-growth product or SaaS company is preferred.
- Experience performing the full cycle of budgeting and planning in a tech-based firm.
- Experience with the monetization of intellectual capital into new products, service offerings, and alternative business/delivery models for a large organization
- Experience producing executive level reporting on technology KPIs, and contributing to MD&A.
- Experience developing new financial models and analytical frameworks
- Experience with investment analysis, business case evaluation and ROI measurement.
- Experience driving financial success for technology products and solutions, with knowledge of SaaS, IP-based and managed services business models.
- Experience in a highly dynamic environment requiring partnership with numerous stakeholders including C-level.
- Demonstrated success in improving stakeholder financial literacy on complex topics.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment
Ideally, you'll also have
- CPA, CMA or CFA preferred.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $123,600 to $238,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $148,400 to $270,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
