What You'll DoElectrical Product Engineer works very closely with hardware/Mechanical/Software design team plus manufacturing team & other multi-functional team to ensure the product is manufacturable meeting cost, Quality & delivery requirements.
Who You Are- He /she reviews the design & architecture from DFM, Component technology used, EOL etc.
- During NPI’s Candidate should provide all technical support required for Proto builds and ensure cost/Quality targets are met
- During sustenance, need to manage change management activities & also need to work towards meeting factory and field Quality metrics
- Value Engineering activities to be driven to improve the cost margins
- . Supply chain continuity & Resiliency support
Skills required :- Very good understanding on Electronic product design and architecture.
- Good understanding of Hardware interfaces – High speed serial interfaces , PCIE , Ethernet , SATA , I2C etc ü Knowledge of PCB design , Stack ups and Allegro .
- Knowledge of Valor and DFM is a Plus .
- Knowledge of PCBA Manufacturing, System Build and NPI process
- Knowledge of Product development process from concept to launch phase.
- Expected to have good driving capability to work with cross-functional Teams and drive the deliverables to closure.
Responsibilities:- Perform New product and Sustaining engineering
- DFx: DFM, DFR, DFSC, DFT
- Value engineering (component selection, process efficiency, and design changes)
- BOM structuring and BOM risk Management.
- Design tool proficiency (DFx, schematic, CAD, other CAE tools)
- Cost avoidance (pre-A0) and sustaining cost reduction
- Design lab experimentation / debug (proficiency continuum) / DOE /EFA
- Technical lifecycle management (defect reduction team participation, new component qualification, etc) Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps
- Knowledge and application of industry innovations / trends to product or program
- Creating, analyzing, and releasing product documentation
- Manufacturing (Process), FMEA
- Design FMEA
- Design diagnostic analysis and input / influence
- Leadership skills and provide directions for complex issue resolution
