Microsoft Critical Environments Telemetry Engineer

As a Critical Environments Senior Telemetry Engineer, you will be actively enabling and maintaining electrical and mechanical telemetry for Microsoft’s largest and most mission critical datacenters. This role requires experts in the Industrial Controls Systems (ICS) field who can confidently analyze and troubleshoot data at the packet and register level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical project/program management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent career experience
  • Experience in critical environments (EPMS/BAS)
  • Experience of advanced working experience with Modbus and/or BACnet
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) or Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Experience with SCADA systems implementation and operation
  • Understanding of datacenter electrical and mechanical systems (preferred)
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating ICS data into cloud computing environments
  • Experience designing, building, operating, or maintaining large data centers
  • Basic server operating system and application administration
  • Familiarity with ICS application and data security

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, validate, and maintain availability of telemetry utilizing ICS and SCADA systems
  • Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to maintain availability of telemetry systems
  • Develop documentation and train new engineers
  • Provide training to stakeholders such as datacenter staff regarding ICS telemetry
