Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with global benefits leaders and internal/external thought partners to shape the program strategy and define initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Provide internal consultation and interpretations around escalations from employees and the business and incorporate relevant feedback to improve on future program delivery.
  • Participate in key surveys and identify appropriate benchmarking to measure the competitive level of our programs and costs, balancing against expressed employee preferences and feedback.
  • Ensure internal and external program and vendor compliance with local regulations and PayPal standards.
  • Partner with vendors and People Analytics to develop program reporting on performance to review with stakeholders and review cross functional opportunities to improve on the employee experience across related programs outside of Benefits.
  • Develop an annual communications calendar to optimize for personalized, action-driving notifications and build a full inventory of compliant program resources and plan summaries

Expected Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Engage as a strategic partner to the business and People team. Understand current and emerging market trends, identify potential opportunities and gaps, design benefits that reflect diverse family structures and support the whole self, aligned to our global principles and corporate values, yet provide flexibility and local customization to account for local practices and regional market nuances.
  • Lead negotiations and renewals with providers including utilization review, governance, contract compliance, issues management, employee communications, and stakeholder alignment
  • Review and analyze benefits trends and advise leadership on the state of benefits for the countries in scope, demonstrating an understanding of the market dynamics, regulatory framework, competitive position, and industry trends.
  • Ensure benefit program proposals balance PayPal values alignment, affordability and competitiveness, business objectives, and meet all legal requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure benefits and wellness offerings are relevant, flexible, cost-effective, and competitive with local practices and aligned with business and talent strategies.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, brokers, and carriers, including monitoring of cost, service levels, processes, and accuracy of data.
  • Partner with benefits team members, legal and procurement teams for benefit contract implementation, risk assessments, renewals and payment monitoring.
  • Leverage technology and tools to simplify tasks and enhance employee-facing processes to deliver a friction-less, elevated experience through the employee lifecycle
  • Support plan audits and reconciliations with financial insights and data
  • Meaningfully engage employees through various modes to improve benefits awareness and participation
  • Develop compelling benefits communications including emailers and program documents for program renewals and targeted employee connects
  • Manage day-to-day administration and compliance of programs, through management of internal and external partner relationships.
