Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the Global Safety in Construction Standard to establish core expectations and ensure alignment with key stakeholders in all project stages
- Collaborating with the Global Capital Projects team to ensure health and safety requirements are effectively integrated during project management execution and embedded in new construction designs
- Partnering with the Global Workplace Strategy team to ensure health and safety requirements are integrated into workplace development
- Ensuring all existing and proposed construction projects incorporate and maintain effective and appropriate health and safety controls during all project phases (i.e. planning, contract initiating, construction, commissioning, project completion, etc.)
- Developing and implementing construction performance metrics for health and safety; capture and report performance to appropriate BSC leadership.
- Establishing a health and safety compliance matrix for all construction project locations; conduct site performance reviews to ensure Boston Scientific requirements are being met during all project phases
- Implementing safety assurance processes for the hand-back of all construction projects upon completion; establish processes for any health and safety corrective actions
- Performing site compliance assurance assessments and ensuring required corrective actions are managed to effective closure to ensure adherence to standards and regulations throughout project lifecycle
- Attending Global Capital Projects meetings to represent health and safety requirements and advise on required actions; support EHS managers with on-going construction activities on their sites
- Monitoring the health and safety performance of key construction contractors to ensure a process for approving and restricting contractors is in place
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience administering standard health and safety concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction industry
- Working knowledge of construction regulatory structures and experience interfacing with regulatory agencies
- Experience leading and influencing cross-functionally to meet business goals and objectives
- Ability to travel up to 30% (domestically and internationally)
Preferred qualifications
- Effective communication and presentation skills; ability to collaborate with construction site teams and senior leadership
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
