Work expectations:
- Research design options and document findings
- Prepare drainage plans, detail drawings and project specifications.
- Review drainage plans, calculations and utility research and coordination
- Coordinate project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group
- Assist with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers
- Have strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Have a team-oriented attitude
- Perform quantity calculations
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Coursework related to hydrology, drainage design and water resources analysis
- Working knowledge of the principles of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience using CADD/Design software (Microstation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D) and H&H design software (HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GIS, OpenRoads Designer Drainage and Utilities)
- Previous internship with a municipality, DOT or engineering consultant focused on relevant projects.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate
