The Strategy Assistant Vice President (AVP) typically has 2-4 years of experience in Consulting or Financial Services; often coming from internal or external undergraduate analyst programs, or from external management consultancies.


Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to projects across their lifecycle: identifying and structuring the problem, analyzing root causes, developing solutions, communicating project results and getting buy-in for change.
  • Identify opportunities for growth or optimization of businesses and corporate wide functions, including operational management, capital allocation, profitability enhancement, etc.
  • Conduct in-depth research and perform deep dives on specific businesses to evaluate strategies and opportunities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, emerging trends and industry implications.
  • Work with businesses in the execution of improvement strategies by coordinating project plans, acting as a point of contact and taking active part in the implementation process.
  • Develop working relationships with executives in business units, support functions and senior leadership.
  • Structure and develop presentations for senior management and Citigroup Board of Directors, framing issues and synthesizing key findings of team analyses and recommendations.
  • Improve problem solving, modeling, communications and leadership skills in an environment of active mentorship and coaching.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Citi’s global businesses and internal functions through exposure to a variety of topics in a fast-paced environment with challenging, multi-faceted assignments.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years' experience.
  • History of academic and professional excellence and achievement.
  • High degree of flexibility and productivity; initiative and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven, ability to multi-task productively and result orientation.
  • Has the ability to independently own work and operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets and convey a clear story supported by findings.
  • Knowledge ofoperational/financialmodeling (forecasting, valuation) and ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Bachelor’s/Universitydegree or equivalent experience
