Key job responsibilities
As a member of the Prime Video CLUE team, you will spend your time as a hands-on engineer and a technical leader. You will play a key role in defining and building systems and products from the ground up as well as operate and migrate legacy systems to new. You will use a wide range of technologies, programming languages and systems primarily but not limited to AWS products. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software development. You will have the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas and the reward of seeing your contributions move from concepts to software, benefiting tens of millions of Prime Video customers. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer centric, and feels strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals. Experience with building and operating web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, will be very applicable and helpful.A day in the life
You will work on building distributed systems that ingest, process, enrich and publish high quality audio/video. You will leverage many of the key AWS technologies including EC2, S3, API Gateway, ECS, Lambda, Sagemaker and DynamoDB towards that goal.You will collarborate with peer SDEs, Product Managers, Program Managers, Customers and other stakeholders to ensure solution to design, deliver will meet desired product experience. You will attend and often lead mechanisms such as design and operational reviews, articulate technical risks and propose alternative tech solutions to address them.
We accomplish this by (a) building technical solutions to simplify ingestion, state management and publishing of digital content (e.g. video, audio), (b) Orchestrating content synthesis with adjacent functions such as Localization, Accessibility (c) enriching published content quality by detecting and correcting defects using AI modals and humans in the loop and (d) invent technology that empowers our partners to prefer PV as preferred platform to distribute their content (such as ultra-low latency publishes).
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
