Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Support the marketplace lead in developing our online marketplace business across Europe (focus on third party marketplaces), being the main point of contacts for all above market topics

  • Enable the eMarketplace go-to-market strategy & execution across Europe for Digital Partner Commerce (DPC) – including all digital wholesale policies, terms & conditions

  • Responsible for evaluating and driving the implementation of new digital business models for our European business with third party marketplaces and service providers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embodying a kaizen mindset, continuously look to evolve our digital footprint across online marketplaces in Europe, in the pursuit of maximizing consumer experience, control distribution and increase conversion and sales

  • Drive continuous improvement of tools, processes, and systems within the DPC Marketplace Management scope

  • Act as a key contact person for global & local stakeholders across topics concerning digital wholesale marketplaces in Europe

  • Ensure a consistent, comprehensive and strategic approach to mapping the digital European marketplace, including a focus on eMarketplaces & continuously evaluate which platforms & digital destinations are most relevant to adidas & our consumers, in line with our ambition to become the best sports brand in the world.

  • Lead internal stakeholder management to ensure that the eMarketplace strategy ties into the overall European DPC assessment, cluster specific market dynamics and digital landscape

  • Ensure strong collaboration with the digital zone leads around adherence of digital policies and terms & conditions as well as with the Global DPC team around global consistency in our commercial & operational approach with global eMarketplaces.

  • Ownership of measures to be taken in case the marketplace policy is not adhered to with the aim of ensuring consistent & premium brand presence irrespective of where consumers choose to shop.

  • Support the exploration, piloting and implementation of different logistical, operational & commercial models through which we would interact with different eMarketplaces across Europe.

  • Continuously map the digital European marketplace, to identify where opportunities to capture incremental market share exist, e.g. by optimizing our brand’s digital distribution

  • Enable the Marketplace approval process & ePolicy implementation, ensuring that all our partners have a distinct incremental role to play & enable safe, brand enhancing consumer focused ecosystems for our brand

  • Ownership of the digitally related internal and external wholesale policies and contractual agreements to ensure growth of our online business

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extremely strong organizational and planning skills - ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously & an ability to work in a deadline driven environment.

  • Focused on achieving results & confident to take on accountability to exceed expectations.

  • Knowledge of the eMarketplace landscape, specifically relevant to sporting goods

  • Understanding of the go to market process driven by a sales community within the sporting goods industry

  • Strong PowerPoint skills required coupled with excellent communication skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills and high proficiency in spreadsheet analyses. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and passionate about deriving business insight from financial data, improving financial and business processes, and solving problems.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA / BS in Business, Finance, Economics or related field (MBA preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience (experience in digital/eCommerce, business development, operations, logistics or finance).

  • Experience working with eMarketplaces preferred

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; at least one other European language would be beneficial
