What a typical day looks like:
- Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
- Establishes goals for purchasing department.
- Follow-up policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
- Manage and guide a team of buyers and expeditors to meet procurement and supplier managementgoals
- Interface with procurement groups in updating and maintaining company procurement strategies
- Implement processes with suppliers to improve on time delivery and Purchase Price Variance
- Helping implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory models
- Supervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of partsand services
- Approves purchase orders and change notices through subordinates.
- Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Typically requires a Bachelor'sdegree or equivalent experienceand extensive knowledge ofpurchasing policies and practices.
- Typically requires a minimum of10 years of related experience.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Demonstratesexpert functional, technical andpeople and/or process
