What you'll do

Summary:
As a (Senior) Cloud Engineer / (Senior) Software Developer (f/m/d), you will play a pivotal role in our agile software engineering team, creating a task execution platform that powers continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) of SAP HANA Cloud for over 1,500 developers. You will be instrumental in driving innovation within our Python and Rust codebase. Join us as we explore the realm of artificial intelligence and its strategic potential for our domain.

In more detail, you'll be responsible for:

• Architecting, developing, and operating a large-scale distributed platform
• Utilizing container orchestration, powered by substantial hardware resources running Linux across data centers and public clouds
• Implementing cloud operations approaches for scalable and resilient infrastructure
• Maintaining a cloud-first mindset and applying infrastructure-as-code best practices
• Collaborating seamlessly with global teams and peers
• Providing thoughtful and constructive code reviews
• Demonstrating project leadership qualities
• Committing to ongoing learning and professional development

What you bring

• University degree in computer science or a related technical field involving software/systems engineering
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience in software engineering
• Experience with programming languages Python and/or Rust
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (knowledge of AWS/GCP is a plus)
• Familiarity with version control systems and constructive code review
• Fluency in English and German, both verbal and written
