The person we’re looking for:

• Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product focused software engineers

• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team

• Work with product leaders to define the strategy, roadmap and destination architecture, helping establish a product mindset within the organization and business partners

• Manage a portfolio of diverse technology platforms and projects to build scalable applications that meet our customer needs

• Continuously improve software engineering practices

• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions

• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

• Has the ability to inspire a shared vision for their organization

• Fosters a positive and engaging environment by building strong relationships, influencing others effectively, and creating meaningful connections with team members and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

• At least 9 years of experience with enterprise architecture, software architecture, or design patterns

• At least 10 years of people management experience

• At least 5 years of Leader of Leaders experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree

• 15+ years of experience working with business leaders on the implications of technology decisions

• 10+ years of experience with complex architectural patterns, building APIs, microservices, and event streams

• 10+ years in engineering delivery

• Proven experience building a Technology Strategy

• Extensive Cloud Architecture experience

• Strong executive communications skills

• AWS Experience

Richmond, VA: $280,600 - $320,200 for Sr. Dir, Software Engineering McLean, VA: $308,700 - $352,300 for Sr. Dir, Software EngineeringThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
