Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level and some external communication may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy.

The successful candidate will lead a key Consent Order Initiative across multiple project management areas covering complex transformation and regulatory projects within Technology. Experience in Price and Market Risk and Front Office processes essential. Extensive experience required managing large complex technology risk and control projects in the Risk space.

This role will require interaction with Senior Stakeholders across Technology, Risk and Business group, driving strategy and planning. Appreciation of the elements of software development and delivery within SDLC and Agile methodologies to achieve critical delivery for multiple stakeholders.Responsibilities:

  • Define a standardized project management and governance model, introducing industry standards.
  • End to End program management for Technology areas spanning Front Office and Risk.
  • Resolves a variety of broad based and complex issues. Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas as well as underlying business principles.
  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding of how own sub function integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
  • Impacts the technology sub function by strategic influence and by exercising control over resources, budget management and planning, accountable for end results.
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
  • Consistent use and collection of artefacts for closure.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Proficiency in both waterfall and agile software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM and Kanban).
  • Familiarity with traditional plan-driven methodologies.
  • Knowledge of assigned business areas.
  • Awareness of current IT industry trends and solutions.
  • Adaptability to flexible working environments and strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Understanding of information management systems.
  • Ability to navigate within the bank, collaborating with multiple business and tech groups.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Substantial years in a senior leadership role delivering Technology projects, ideally in the risk domain.
  • Significant years related experience in Technology in the Capital Markets in different capacities across business analysis and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure managing multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Clear ability to manage client expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks across a wide portfolio of project ownership, remove barriers, resolve major issues and manage senior level escalations.
  • Knowledge of downstream systems (general ledger, risk, regulatory, finance)
  • Proven experience in multiple technology disciplines with extensive experience in business, functional and people management.
  • Budget management, Risk & Control management, influencing skills.
  • Managerial experience, strong communication skills and excellent stakeholder engagement

Education

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, master’s degree preferred.
