As a Senior Manager within the Operational Tax Advisory team you will:• Focus on the delivery of high quality tax advice to our clients
• Leveraging EY technology and products available to provide managed service support to our clients
• Build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
• Manage the successful delivery of projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical and business driven approach
• Pursue and develop new opportunities in respect of both existing and prospective clients
• Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from - Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
- Significant involvement in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and through managing junior staff development and assignments
Skills and attributes for success
• Strong client relationship management skills with ability to produce quality outputs to clients
- Negotiation skills
- Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work to new and existing clients
- Significant technical tax expertise, including familiarity with latest international developments (e.g. BEPS, EU DACs, CESOP, the FASTER initiative)
• Knowledge of securities taxation principles (withholding, tax treaty analysis, capital gains etc) and tax considerations impacting institutional portfolio investors and custodians - Understanding of the financial ecosystem (role of CSD, custodians, broker dealers) and specific products (equity investment portfolio, securities lending, derivatives
• An ability to work to tight deal deadlines
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• Pragmatism and the ability to solve problems creatively
• Results orientation and a willingness to take on responsibility
• A strong client focus allied to strategic and commercial awareness
- Change orientated with flexible approachTo qualify for the role, you must have• ACA / CA / Law qualification or equivalent
• Strong financial sector tax experience
• Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clientsIdeally, you will also have• Project management experience
• experience working alongside technology specialists to optimise and automate tax-related procedures.
