The Regional Estimator is responsible for the development and maintenance of estimates for new Technology & Innovative Datacenter builds in their assigned region. They will manage cost data, communications, schedule meetings, and be a point of contact between internal and external parties for specific projects being supported. The Regional Estimator will work closely with engineering, construction, security, networking, and operations teams throughout each project and ensure cost information is developed and managed to meet the requirements of those specific project needs. They will report directly to the AMERs Principal Lead Estimator and will have dotted-line interactions with Regional Project Estimators & Cost Managers to continue implementing lessons learned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in construction estimating on major construction portfolios
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the full Construction Life Cycle
  • Experience performing all forms and types of estimates, including parametric, bottoms up, and high level what-if scenarios.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and reporting out on project scope, schedule, and budget with cost as the main driver in those conversations.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years experience in construction estimating
  • Ability to present data from detailed to high-level, depending on audience. High personal standard to deliver a thoughtful, polished, and quality work estimate or any other report-out deliverable.
  • Cross-group collaborator and influencer to deliver on key projects and the ability to build the trust of our construction partners.
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills beyond estimating practice.

Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year.

Construction Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Estimate the cost of our datacenter projects to support the short and long-term plans for the corporation. Perform different types of estimates from conceptual to detailed, while keeping delivery dates as a top priority.
  • Partner collaboratively with cross-functional teams (design engineering, construction, cost controls, scheduling, finance, etc.) to understand requirements and ensure alignment to scope, schedule, and budget.
    Report to senior managers on estimate data, project cost progress and assumptions.
  • Support, develop, and improve estimating processes and procedures; drive standardization and consistency throughout the group.
  • Review quantitative or conceptual problems and situations to draw appropriate and valid conclusions from data presented. This includes analyzing data to determine the most significant elements, identifying common elements and themes in situations and actions, and recognizing cause and effect relationships.
  • Review engineering documentation/designs, site, and building plans by examining and analyzing technical information. Identify potential risks/gaps and provide recommendations to project teams that mitigate risk and improve overall constructability. Align project/program delivery with execution procedures and standards and ensure alignment with organizational standards and commitments.
  • Create and apply best practices to identify and incorporate cost-effective solutions for the strategic and tactical delivery of a construction project. Apply influence, strategy, and decision-making to drive solutions, schedules, and manage change with clients, sponsors, and vendors.
