As an associate within our Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk team, you will provide operational risk oversight of Australia and New Zealand. The individual will also lead operational risk coverage for matters pertaining to the Australia and New Zealand Markets business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leveraging the Firmwide CCOR Management Framework to Identify, Measure, Monitor, Manage, Report and Govern Operational Risk for Australia and New Zealand
  • Understanding and assessing Key and Emerging Risks for the Australia and New Zealand location, and for the Global Markets businesses, including staying abreast of industry news and regulatory developments to facilitate proactive risk identification and mitigation
  • Providing oversight to the businesses management of operational risk including reviewing and challenging risks, processes and controls identified by the first LoD and escalating where required
  • Independently assessing operational risks and control environments and raising Issues for the first LoD to remediate where relevant. Assessments are done through quantitative and qualitative means including review of performance against Key Performance Indicators and collaborating with the CCOR Testing team to test the effectiveness of controls.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders across first, second and third LoD including communicating the results of any monitoring and testing activities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Degree-qualified with at least 4+ years of relevant experience in Compliance and/or Operational Risk
  • Familiarity in supporting or providing risk oversight to Markets businesses (e.g. Equities, Sales)
  • Experience in Compliance and/or Operational Risk Management Frameworks, Risk, Controls and Issues management and leading and executing operational risk assessments
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills with successful track record of completion
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Effective influencing skills and ability to drive change and deliver results
  • Proven team player and ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Product and electronic trading will be an advantage
