Our team consists of opensource PostgreSQL committers and contributors. You will be working with a geographically distributed and diverse team. You will get a chance to work on cutting edge database features across the PostgreSQL eco-system spanning from low level I/O, Storage subsystem to user facing query improvements. You will get to work closely with PostgreSQL community consisting of developers and users from many parts of the world and organizations.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Master's Degree OR Equivalent experience in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ yrs total experience and 6+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work.
  • Experience in leading team.
  • Experience in Open Source PostgreSQL Engine development.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Responsibilities

In our team:

  • We spend our days collaborating with each other, learning from a diverse set of world class engineers and the PostgreSQL community.
  • We develop, test, and iterate on patches every day and work on building consensus on ideas with fellow community members.
  • We work with PostgreSQL community to make PostgreSQL better on a day in day-out basis.
  • We work on v0.01 projects based involving changes to PostgreSQL core engine.
  • We are comfortable taking time out to consider, discuss and arrive at consensus on the long-term impact of architectural and design choices we make.
