Job responsibilities

  • Define, communicate and develop our Employee Experience Design System
  • Execute on the engineering and delivery of JavaScript components and reusable components that will be leveraged across internal JPMC applications
  • Building, supporting, and maintaining the design system as a Technical expert across the engineering effort
  • Partner with Senior Product Managers and Engineering Leads to bring forward a common design system to power external and internal customer journeys
  • Lead the transition of the current design system to the target-state across our engineering, experience, and designer teams; working with engineering teams across the organization
  • Provide overall direction and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
  • Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Innovative and creative leader with previous experience in developing large-scale platforms and design systems
  • Proven experience as Software Engineering Lead or design system engineer, or similar role
  • Experienced technical expert, who is passionate about execution and delivery of top quality solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of the engineering best practices, technical design and product development lifecycle
  • Ability to guide and coach junior engineers and influence peers on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
