The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Technical Leader you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading and supporting detailed technical discussions with semiconductor customers’ to define their problems, requirements in performance and timing and convey the message effectively to the platform team to deliver products and data that meet the customer performance and timing needs.
  • Understanding the technology trends to support customer road maps and providing guidance to Product Development, Core R&D and marketing to develop a technology strategy and product road map for 3M semiconductor products.
  • Influencing and guiding Product development and R&D to accelerate product development and generate data that demonstrate the value to customers and the ability to position the products
  • Establishing strongrelationships withcustomers and throughout the semiconductor industry; developing a broad and deep understanding of customer and market needs for all materials in the semiconductor industry to help successfully launch new products.
  • Driving new product evaluations at semiconductor customers to win business through data-driven interactions and developing customer-specific applications and data packages demonstrating 3M product performance.
  • Coordinating the generation of data packages and technical presentations for semiconductor customers.
  • Leads technical team to develop and deliver product and application solutions through customer intimacy and technical collaboration.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in Chemical mechanical planarization.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in the semiconductor industry as a technologist for device, tool, materials or consumables manufacturingexperience ina private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Strong understanding of the semiconductor industry mindset, pace and customer culture.
  • Ability and willingness to understand the full semiconductor device manufacturing process and applications of 3M semiconductor products
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of semiconductor process, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
