In this role, you’ll work closely with editorial, business, and marketing teams—as well as cross-functional and external partners — to shape stories, columns, series, and campaigns for the App Store, both locally and globally.The role will focus on creative direction, people management, creative strategy, content innovation, executive-level presentations, and process refinement.
In this role you will lead the Japan Design Studio’s creative efforts and content direction as well as select international markets. You will lead, guide, and art direct conceptual development and creative execution. You will craft, commission, review - alongside empowering your team to create engaging content to delight our diverse App Store audience. You'll be a fountain of ideas and creative thinking, who can think and implement quickly, laterally, independently or collaboratively. You will present work to senior creative leadership, editorial and marketing partners, and Apple executives - articulating concepts with energy and enthusiasm. You will collaborate with editorial to concept ideas and co-direct teams to produce quality work. You will work with production and asset managers to ensure that schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met. As well as, guide creatives to do their best work and to support each other's strengths.As a manager, you will foster and nurture relationships, managing and mentoring creatives, using that rapport to align teams around a vision. You will posses an ability to work on global teams, across time zones, date lines and traditional routine.
  • 8+ years of proven creative industry experience in print and digital media
  • Portfolio demonstrating proficiency in delivering strategic ideas across digital, social or static form factors.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • Demonstrated mastery of Adobe Creative suite
  • Have an incredible talent for developing elevated aesthetics, visually cohesive campaigns, and the ability to tell a powerful story through the work
  • 4+ years of managing creative teams
  • Demonstrable design or creative leadership experience; bonus for experience in publishing, magazines, or content creation/delivery
  • Passionate about exceptional art direction, design, and creative that is thoughtful, meaningful, provocative at times, and significant
  • A love for App & Game culture and bring that knowledge to the forefront of your thinking
