Our team practice the full lifecycle of data analysis, from the early stages of identification and collection, through to management, analysis, reporting and production. Our engagements typically require working with large, and often disparate, volumes of electronically stored structured and unstructured information, and the application of advanced analytics techniques. We work with clients across a wide variety of industry sectors (including life sciences, oil and gas, Government and public sector, and technology), supporting investigations, disputes, tax, GCO, proactive risk detection, etc.


The Discovery team specialise in identifying, collecting, and producing large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI) in the form of emails, documents, databases, audio/video files, social media, web sites and more, on behalf of our clients. This is secured and analysed to separate the relevant data for use in a range of different projects.
Data collection and preservation across a range of media such as laptops, tablets, handsets, and servers, and cloud-based services such as Microsoft 0365, slack, iTunes, etc.
Supporting all aspects of the engagement lifecycle, from initial scoping, day-to-day client support, and to project close.
Interacting with clients directly to provide any required support and guidance in relation to the engagement and deployment of appropriate technical solutions and tools.
Working closely with team members to ensure critical deadlines are met and engagement quality is at the requisite high standard.
Using problem solving approaches to overcome unexpected issues, both technical and operational.


Requirements:

  • Strong academic qualifications with a degree in the field of computer forensics, mathematics, computer science or appropriate work experience in an industry with translatable skills.
  • Relevant work experience across the left side of the EDRM including collections and preservation experience.
  • Understanding of the ACPO guidelines and their use within Discovery.
  • Experience using collections tools such as FTK, Encase, or Cellebrite.
  • Strong interest in developing within digital forensics and with forensic investigations while also assisting across the entirety of the EDRM.
  • Strong independent analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • High-risk awareness and ability to identify and reduce risk in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (any additional language is considered as a plus).

Other desired attributes (where applicable):

  • Experience using Relativity or another document review platform (Clearwell, NUIX, Reveal, etc.) and any of their relevant certifications. (e.g. RCA)
  • EnCase, FTK, GIAC, or relevant forensic certifications
  • Scripting language experience, particularly SQL and Python.
  • Exposure to Object Oriented programming, particularly C#, C++ or Java.
