Job responsibilities

  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience in Java
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)- java and python
  • Experience Building Out Data Systems leveraging distributed data technologies and MicroServices Leveraging Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in building cloud based platform preferably leveraging data technologies such as databricks or snowflake.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making
  • Experience in building out Cloud Applications (AWS) and understanding of Cloud Data Platforms such as Snowflake and/or Databricks
  • Experience with SysOps and CI/CD tools for VM and Container deployments
  • Experience with Databases (RDBMS, NoSQL) and developing applications using databases
  • Experience with BigData Systems such as Hadoop, Spark, S3
  • Experience with one or more Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Ansible
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud technology trends and best practices, security and governance practices
  • Knowledge of AWS Services such as S3, EMR, Glue etc.
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
