Your impact
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the detailed design and analysis of overhead transmission lines (HVAC/HVDC), encompassing route selection, tower spotting, conductor selection, and insulation coordination.
- Lead and execute the detailed design and analysis of underground cable systems (HV/EHV), including route selection and cable sizing.
- Utilize industry-standard software such as PLS-CADD (Power Line Systems) for transmission line design and CYMCAP for cable modeling.
- Employ related analysis tools, including AutoCAD and GIS, for design and visualization purposes.
- Apply a comprehensive understanding of relevant international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations (e.g., Saudi Arabian standards) to all design activities.
- Demonstrate familiarity with construction methodologies, installation techniques, and quality control procedures for both overhead and underground systems.
- Conduct complex technical calculations and provide robust solutions to engineering challenges related to transmission line and cable system design and performance.
- Identify potential technical risks during the design and construction phases and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare clear, concise, and professional technical reports, specifications, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineering disciplines, surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction teams.
- Conduct site investigations and collect essential data for design purposes, including the interpretation of geotechnical and survey reports.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety principles and ensure adherence to safety practices throughout the design process.
