Experience and skills are expected to include:
- Current and active participation in renewable energy sector in New Zealand.
- Early-stage project development across wind, solar and/or BESS.
- Problem solving skills across renewable energy development phases across multiple disciplines including grid connection, environmental disciplines, stakeholder engagement, project economics and core engineering inputs.
- Strong articulation and communication skills.
- High quality report writing.
- Time management and experience working on multiple projects or pursuits simultaneously.
- Work within multi-disciplinary teams, including coordinating the input of multiple disciplines.
The following experience and skills are preferred, but not essential:
- Experience working in consulting or for renewable energy developers.
- A personal network within the renewable energy sector in New Zealand.
- Understanding of commercial aspects of renewable energy development, including project economics and project financing.
- Time on site on renewable energy projects.
Other experience and qualifications are expected to include:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in renewable energy, engineering, environmental, economics or related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide broad consulting support specific to renewable energy projects, including project development and delivery.
- Develop Jacobs’ capabilities and reputation in New Zealand, with support to Australia and Asia
- Deliver high quality consultancy services.
- Representing Jacobs at key thought leadership events.
- Manage projects, delivering on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures.
- Mentor and facilitate the development of more junior resources.
- Support business development, with a focus on renewable generation, and support the win of opportunities.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the industry (e.g. prospects, past clients).
- Enhance our reputation with clients through strong service delivery.
- Promote a client focused culture when working within the team.
- Bid preparation and submittals as required.
- Promote safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.
- Be engaged in the safety culture of Jacobs and promote safety in all aspects of project delivery.
- Provide senior support to the group including the following:
- Talent management: has a mentor and acts as a mentor to others, participates in technical training and holds or pursues professional certification where applicable.
- Strategy and growth: establish relationships with local clients and involved in pursuits. Aware of local market drivers and Jacobs’ involvement
- Connectivity: Has a network of expertise that extends beyond their home office. Participates in community of practices and leads small teams.
- Driving Innovation: Supports innovation and challenges our approach.
- Project Delivery Excellence: Participates in quality management process using key tools and best practices to maximise productivity/helps identify and communicate project risks to Jacobs and our clients.
