In this role, you will interact with business stakeholders to evaluate business models, processes, and operations. You will gather, understand, and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications. Additionally, you will analyze newly implemented technology solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and collaborate with technical teams to design and deliver system architecture solutions.

Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in Technology Analysis, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering complex technical initiatives. You will face challenges that require innovative problem-solving and analytical skills, providing you with opportunities to grow and learn in a dynamic environment.

In addition, you will lead a workstream team focused on specific areas such as Data Management, ETL, or Reporting and Analytics throughout the SAP implementation cycle. You will play a crucial role in delivering the SAP system and business integration by collaborating with key client stakeholders. Your responsibilities include delivering cohesive and comprehensive deliverables on time and within budget, ensuring client satisfaction. Furthermore, you will support EY leadership in developing and selling new implementation opportunities while mentoring junior team members.

  • Leading a workstream within a larger finance transformation program, from strategy formulation to operational implementation.
  • Track deliverable completion and project status, ensuring alignment with performance objectives.
  • Developing a plan and execution strategy for key project deliverables and overseeing end-to-end delivery.
  • Assisting finance teams in reimagining their target state through modern technology capabilities.
  • Shaping the design of finance operating models and introducing innovative finance processes, focusing on SAP General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Accounting, Finance Master Data Management, and Allocations.
  • Collaborating with key business stakeholders to document business requirements and performing FIT-GAP analysis.
  • Leading the development of high-level solution design.
  • Leading a team in building SAP-enabled solutions and completing relevant design specifications and configurations.
  • Conducting regular reviews and quality assurance routines to ensure quality delivery.
  • Overseeing solution testing and defect resolution process.
  • Communicating progress regularly, identifying key risks early, developing action and mitigation plans, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Mentoring junior team members to cultivate the next generation of SAP technology professionals.
  • Collaborating with international teams on multi-disciplinary global business transformations.

  • Previous experience with SAP ERP applications, ideally SAP S/4 HANA, with experience in multiple functional areas or modules.
  • A passion for leading teams, developing others, and building client relationships.
  • Confidence in planning and executing all activities within the software development lifecycle for SAP Data Management or Reporting solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, an inclination to connect with customers.
  • Ability to develop an implementation plan, articulate progress clearly, and identify and communicate delivery risks.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Proven ability to manage engagement economics and resource planning.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing change effectively.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for additional services and lead specific RFP responses.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree).
  • Typically, no less than 4 - 6 years relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on end-to-end SAP or S/4HANA implementation experience.
  • 3 years of implementation experience using SAP S/4HANA with SAP BW/4HANA, Embedded Analytics or any ETL tool such as SAP BODS, Informatica, or DataStage.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a financial services company or comparable industry
  • Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, IDocs, BAPIs).
  • A deep understanding of Data Management, ETL or Reporting and Analytics, and the standard components of the Finance Technology Architecture (data warehouse, subledgers, general ledger, reporting tools, etc.) and their interdependencies.
  • Previous exposure to process design and mapping.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • SAP certification(s) related to S/4HANA, Embedded Analytics, BW/4HANA or ETL tools.
  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design.
  • Experience in data modeling and reporting engagements.
  • Experience in quality assurance activities (quality reviews, providing feedback on documentation, etc.).
  • Experience with SAP RISE Migration and S/4HANA conversion (ECC to S/4HANA).
  • Exposure to project management concepts and routines.
  • A post-graduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $141,200 to $258,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $169,500 to $294,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
