Your responsibilities will include:
- Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment for design and development of novel LAA implants.
- Use CAD modeling and analysis tools and rapid prototyping to for ideation, concept generation, prototyping and evaluation of prototype devices.
- Conducts feasibility studies to verify performance and functionality.
- Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
- Participating in design & execution of structured experimental plans to drive data-based decisions.
- Enabling technology integration & knowledge transfer within domain of responsibility.
- Providing clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates.
- Leveraging internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives.
- Understanding clinical use cases and user interface requirements to drive design decisions.
- Collaborate with support personnel and coordinates project activities.
- Developing novel improvements to products or processes resulting in expansion of BSC’s Intellectual Property portfolio in key strategic areas.
- Tracking mechanical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
- Investigating, researching, and selecting mechanical components, tools, equipment, and best practices.
- Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.
- Successfully completing engineering work in one or more of the following: technology development, product design and development, test method development, specification development, bench & preclinical studies.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or similar field.
- 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience (Master’s Degree may substitute for 1 year).
- Solid lab experience with debugging, fixture development, and test equipment.
- Expertise in design simulation tools and CAD, experimental design and analysis techniques.
- Ability to provide technical knowledge as it relates to product design.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
- Experience interacting with physicians and customers on product design
- Willingness to work onsite at our Maple Grove, MN site
Preferred qualification:
- Experience in the cardiovascular implant design and development
- Experience in the LAAO or AFib business
- Design and process control implementation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Maximum Salary: $ 144400
