Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Analysis & Cross-Functional Exposure:
    • Partner with product, engineering, data science, marketing, and sales teams to understand their operational planning processes and contribute insights.
    • Collaborate with the Finance & Operations (F&S) team to support scenario modeling and provide analytical input for investment prioritization discussions.
    • Act as a liaison across select teams to facilitate communication and contribute to the alignment of key business initiatives.
  • Data-Driven Insights & Operational Improvement:
    • Gather, analyze, and synthesize data to support strategic recommendations and identify potential areas for operational improvement.
    • Contribute to the design and documentation of process improvements and workflows aimed at enhancing team efficiency.
    • Collaborate with functional groups to analyze specific operational challenges and assist in the development of data-driven solutions.
    • Support the definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance.
    • Assist in the exploration and evaluation of AI/automation opportunities within planning workflows.
    • Support the identification and management of project dependencies and potential risks.
    • Contribute to the documentation of standardized processes for managing changes to planning workflows.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Currently pursuing an MBA or advanced graduate degree, graduating between December 2025 and June 2026, from a top-tier university.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with strong exposure to strategic planning, experience in top tier management consulting/investment bank followed by technology company

SKILLS

  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking.
  • Proficiency in data-driven analytics and financial modeling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and develop working relationships at all levels.
  • Adaptability and self-awareness in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the high technology industry.
  • Advanced PowerPoint (Think Cell) and Excel modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of market research and competitive landscape analysis.

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
