Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creates comprehensive unit test plans and test cases.

  • Performs design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation solutions.

  • Creates and executes performance tests to ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved.

  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, maintains, and modifies computer programs of every complexity, significance, and risk.

  • Performs, and at times leads clients and technical staff to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems related to system functions, programming, and procedures.

  • Participates in post-implementation reviews of both application development content and process to maximize shared learning.

  • Actively participates in monitoring operating efficiency of existing systems, including DB2.

  • Work cooperatively with peers, management, and other business and system team members.

  • Give direction and drive solutions during PI Planning, story refinement, and daily stand-ups.

  • Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards

  • Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices


- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Two to three years of relevant experience


Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles

  • Expert level of skill in developing, debugging, and maintaining all COBOL programs, with a general understanding of development and maintenance of CICS programs.
    Experience with cloud based and API processing is desirable. Azure, Google Cloud Platform(Cloud Storage, Cloud Hosting, Authentication, Functions), Spring, JSON, REST, AWS, UNIX/Linux, Git, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Kafka

  • An expert level of skill in developing, debugging, and maintaining all JCL and PROCs.

  • A strong understanding of development and maintenance of DB2 within the mainframe environment.

  • Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices

  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
