Performs sensor electrical design functions on cross functional team.
Tasks include defining customer requirements, developing, andselecting best concepts, detailed product design, design validation and productrelease. Develop and maintain functional safety plan for theprogram.
Ensure work products are compliant to ISO 26262.
Support and guide product design engineers in developingHARA (Hazard Analysis Risk Analysis) ,FSC (Functional Safety Concept) and TSC(Technical Safety Concept).
Support and guide design engineers in performing safetyanalysis from System/Platform - Sensor & controller and determine control measure based on safety level determined byOEM/Customer.
Knowledge of functional safety, ASIL(Automotive SafetyIntegrity Level) , AECQ (Automotive ElectronicsCouncil Quality) and the ability to apply knowledge to optimize designs forperformance and cost.
Create detailed designs and documentation for sensors andelectrical assemblies.
Able to interprete /modify software for product, production, and/orlaboratory use during product development.
Analyze complex sensor output data sets to develop optimumcalibration algorithms.
Create analog, digital, or mixed signal computer models tosimulate various concepts.
Review work product confirmations with supplier based onspecification, qualification and validation tests.
Follow a structured New Product Introduction Process in aglobal team environment.
Employ Lean and DFSS tools and methodology throughout the designprocess.
Interface with customers, sales, marketing, production, andpeers in the technical community.
Produce documentation for customers, production staff andvendors.
Some (<25%) domestic and international travel to customers, suppliers,and manufacturing locations on an as needed basis.
MUST HAVE:
Must have a BS in Electrical & Electronics or Electronics &Communication Engineering.
7+ years of electrical engineering experience developingcircuits, use of laboratory instrumentation, component testing, product &system testing, and/or using embedded firmware and software.
3 years of experience in Automotive Industry.
WE VALUE:
3-5 years of experience with sensor design, sensor signalconditioning, ADC’s, ASIC's and microcontrollers in products, circuits, andsystems.
Experience in sensor calibration using digital compensationtechniques.
Experience in circuits and systems and laboratoryinstrumentation, oven controllers, power supplies, oscilloscopes, dataacquisition hardware; and GPIB control.
Experience with hardware (electronics, embedded devices,circuit design) and/or firmware (HDL/embedded C programming).
This person will be responsible for the development andimplementation of hardware and software for various applications and systems.Embedded software development experience is desired.
Master’s degree or course work in Electrical Engineeringpreferred.
Excellent written, oral communication and presentationskills.
Proficient with MS Office Professional programs Excel,PowerPoint, and Word.
